Helping those who are disconnected from God become committed followers of Jesus Christ – this is what we do at Frederick Boulevard. Everything we do is built around this framework. We want those who are curious about God, who are indifferent about God, those who are familiar with God and those who are even angry with God to come to Frederick, and find a place where they are challenged to know Him, to submit to Him and to become more like Him.

The foundation for this effort are three core values; Gospel. Community. Mission. These three values are at the heart of everything we do.

God’s mission is the most important reality that we can engage in that has a term life. We engage on mission, serving others and sharing the gospel story, praying that they would find this same gospel life that we have found. Mission is vital, and time sensitive, as we believe that God will one day return for his people, and at that point no will ever again be able to make a choice about following God or not. Mission is vital now because it will not exist in eternity.

With that said, we also believe that mission is more than something we do. In years gone by, many people and churches would speak of mission as an activity for the extra –spiritual. We, however, believe that mission is hard wired into our dna. We are not doing “mission”, we are always on mission. Whether we are a brand new follower of Jesus, or we have been following Jesus for most of a long lifetime, we are all missionaries, on mission showing and sharing the gospel story of Jesus to a world that needs to be introduced to Him.

The spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to Him, the more intensely missionary we become.
-Henry Martyn

It is because of this that we make the mission of God a centerpiece of our church’s existence.
